This is why I don't "trust" programmers that don't "like" hardware

This left me both in a state of awe and of feeling stupid. I mean how can one write programs for a living and not find this mind bending? The huge amount of “hacks” and “tweaks” an x86 uArch includes is just impressive, especially when you can “see” the results on code running on top of a virtual machine (Python) which is by definition as far as we can go from ASM.
