Database Administrator
Your mission:
As a team member you will be responsible for the performance, integrity and security of MiOS database.
Job Duties:
●High knowledge of Percona, MySQL or MariaDB;
●Manage clustered or replicated MySQL setups; setups to be managed can have 2 masters and
multiple slaves;
●Develop MySQL database architectures;
●Manage performance issues, capacity, replication, tweaking and other distributed data issues
Manage procedures and policies for backup and recovery to ensure effective protection and integrity
of data assets;
●Set-up for end-user database access control levels;
●Establishing the needs of users and monitoring user access and security;
●Minimise database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses;
●Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards;
●Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity;
●Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when
required.
Job Requirements:
●Proven working experience as a Database administrator, on Percona, MySQL or Oracle, on
●Linux/FreeBSD/Solaris/AIX;
●Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications;
●Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security and integrity;
●Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding;
●Previous experience with database tools (administration/management/automation), specially
snapshot backups or any other zero downtime backup methods;
●Perl, Bash scripting, Python is a plus;
●BS degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification;
●Excellent English communication skills (both written and spoken).
